VIVEKACHUDAMANI TAMIL DISCOURSE : CHAPTER 1 - SLOKA 153 to 154 - FEB 20-2015

Om Namasivaya Nama:

Sloka 153:

He who reaches the Self and merges with it is the liberated one. In other words search like a painter who uses Munja Grass. All sense objects should be carefully handled to derive at the core actionless Atma.

Sloka 154:

Acharya explains in depth by each Sheath (Kosa), to begin with Annamaya Kosa (Food Sheath).

Body can't be Self-existing because it depends on food and pure air (Prana). The physical body represents Food and Prana. It is made up of 7 dhathus (by products of Pancha-bhoothas) due to which it can't be pure like Athma.

When all five Sheaths are negated the Self bliss is realized.

Sloka 152:

The wise man who is well versed in Sasthra and participant of Sathsang can differentiate Athma and Anathma and he is the only one can enjoy the bliss continuously.

Sloka 149:

Five Sheaths are created or produced the Divine Power itself but sometime it also appears to be the hindrance for Self Realization just like the moss cover pure water.

Sloka 150:

When the moss is removed the same pure water can quench the thirst of individual, therefore indulge in senses are the most dangerous which causes the growth of moss, whereas the inside deep water it pure like our Athma and moss like our senses.
