Om Namasivaya Nama:
Sri Gurubhyo Nama - Guru Purnima day!
Nature of Atman / Self continued....
Sloka 217 :
Many things manifests in the mind inwardly as un known impressions of the Ego, at the same time the same Ego witness everything by being seated inside the heart known as Atman (Existence Knowledge Bliss Absolute - Sat/Chith/Ananda). One must withdraw from all perceptions, emotions and thoughts so that the remaining will be Eternal; this is what Atman.
Sloka 218:
Seeing the reflection of the Sun in the water in a jar is considered to be Sun itself. Like wise, a fool through delusion, identify himself with the reflection of the Chith (Chitha-basa) caught in the intellect and considered to be the "I" his own identity. Consciousness playing upon the thoughts is called Chithabasa, why because Consciousness functioning through our body, mind and intellects and the I remain un-afflicted.

VIVEKACHUDAMANI TAMIL DISCOURSE : CHAPTER 1 - SLOKA 215 to 216 - JUL 24-2015
Om Namasivaya Nama:
Sloka 215:
When all the happenings are removed, there cannot be any witness-hood. The Witness itself become reality. In other words, when there is no entity to witness a thing, we cannot say that it has been witnessed at all.
Sloka 216:
The Atman is a witness of itself, therefore it is realized only by Itself. Hence Atman itself is Supreme Brahman and none other.

VIVEKACHUDAMANI TAMIL DISCOURSE : CHAPTER 1 - SLOKA 211 to 214 - JUL 17-2015
Om Namasivaya Nama:
ATMAN other than the Five Kosas
Sloka 211:
This Athman (Self) is self effulgent and distinct from 5 Kosas (Sheaths). It is the witness of Three States (Jagrath, Swapa & Sushupthi) and ever lasting bliss. Therefore a Mumukshu (Wise person / True Seeker) should realize it as his own. Only Self (Atman) exists rest all non existent, in other words false truth (like Sun rise and set etc..)
Sloka 212:
If so, What is Atman (Self) asked by Disciple:
Since all five Sheaths are delusion, then what is left over is the state of sheer non-entity (Soonya Akasa). Therefore by which entity one should realize his oneness with Atman?
Sloka 213 & 214:
Nature of the Self explained by Teacher (Guru):
Oh learned one, you have spoken the right. Let me explain to you. Behind the "Naught" is the Knower knowing the "Nothingness". After negating everything the "Consciousness" remain THAT is Athman. Whichever you say as "Athman/Brahman" is the Brahman. Without THAT nothing can be known.

VIVEKACHUDAMANI TAMIL DISCOURSE : CHAPTER 1 - SLOKA 197 to 202 - JUN 05-2015
Om Namasivaya Nama:
Self-Knowledge gives liberation continued...
Sloka 197:
The Jeeva-hood can exists only as long as the delusion lasts. Just like the rope is mistaken to be a snake.
Sloka 198:
Avidhya and its effects are said to be beginningless, but we may think it has beginning, whereas when Vidhya rise the Avidhya (illusion) get destroyed and it will become non existent.
Sloka 199:
Just like dreams are destroyed on waking up. In the dreams it was there but as soon as the awareness rise in us (waking up) immediately the dreams ceases. It is known as former non-existence (Pragbava according to Nyaya Sastra). In other words, even though Avidya is beginning less it dis-appears when Vidhya arise in us.
Sloka 200:
Although it is beginning less "former non-existence" is found to have an end, like wise the Jeeva-hood (Jeevathma, Jeevan etc,,) imagined to be in the Athman through its super imposed attribute of intellect.
Sloka 201:
The relation between Atman and the intellect is due to the false knowledge (effect of Avidhya).
Sloka 202:
The super-impositions will cease to function when the real knowledge arise. Realization of the identity of the Soul (jeeva-hood) and Brahman is the right knowledge (Samyak Jnana).

Om Namasivaya Nama:
Moksho-paya: (What is Liberation and how to achieve)
After hearing so much about Self and Non Self, the seeker (Sishya) post a humble question to his Master. Next 2 slokas are about his question for clarification.
Sloka: 192
Sishya Uvacha (The Disciple asked!)
How can you say the beginning less can have an end since the Supreme Self has come to consider as the Jeeva (Life) since both have no beginning nor end in other words the Jeeva-hood of the Self must not have an end too. Therefore where is the question of liberation for Self? Please clarify.
Sloka 193:
Therefore, there is no end for the Supreme-self that reflect as Jeeva-hood (Jeeva Bhavathwam) at the same time no end for the transmigration of the Jeeva too. If this is true, then where is the question of liberation for whom?
Realization of Self: (Self Knowledge gives Liberation:)
Guru Uvacha (Guru Said)
Sloka 194:
O learned one, listen to me carefully and i will remove the confusion within you. Delusion cannot be accepted as facts, therefore once delusion disappears the reality will be understood. Supreme Self never had the Jeeva-hood, because everything Supreme Self itself. Due to the delusory misconception, imaginations were created by individual and got in to the net of confusion.
