GENERAL NOTES TO YOGAS

Yoga is nothing but our Karma Deeds carried forward to this life from previous. No Yoga will be formed without a specific purpose. Yoga is also known as rewards to our actions of past some time present too. Everyone must take birth in this Earth-based on certain combinations of planetary positions that include Gods incarnations. The Puranas says that divine personalities will wait and choose for a planetary combination for them to successfully implement their goals of incarnations. To get into that situation they do such an activity to get the desired rewards (Karma Phala). The intelligent humans can also do this, that is why most of the Vedic scriptures recommending us to perform certain Karmas to avail such benefits in this life or in future. The Souls know that the human’s life is not going to end easily. Billions of birth and death will be met by this Soul (Jeeva). Therefore, we should only think of doing something good in our life whether this life is first and last or going to continue further! Faith in Sastras and Wisemen's advice will not go waste!

Before going to through the Yoga chart and find out what kind of Yogas are waiting for us in life, please go through these special notes to understand it better. You should not come to conclusion without knowing it thoroughly. To understand certain combinations, you may need an expert’s interference. Please do not hesitate to do so.

1. The conjunction has three aspects viz. 1. Planets positioned within 8 degrees (Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu) and Planets within 12 degrees (Sun and Moon) are highest in conjunction, 2. Planets within the same Raasi/Sign (50% effect), 3. Planets aspecting/looking each other (25% effect).

2. Kendra positions mean signs 1^st, 4^th, 7^th and 10^th Houses/Raasis/Signs. And Trikona positions means signs 5^th and 9^th.

3. Aspect or view means all planets have a full aspect to their 180^th degree Sign (7^th House – mutual aspect). There is a special aspect for some planets besides 7^th house such as Mars = 4 and 8, Jupiter = 5 and 9, Saturn = 3 and 10 houses.

4. Please note if a person is afflicted with possessed ghost, curse, black magic none of the Yogas will help that individual. However, someone in the family may benefit on the native’s behalf.

5. If 10^th Lord get placement in 3^rd house, then he will destroy the Raja Yogam.

6. Some scholars are having a difference of opinion with regards to some Yogas.

7. We will get only what we deserved for, in other words, all Yogas are taking birth in our natal chart based on the previous life’s good and bad Karma only. Hence, try to do good now so that the future is well secured with lots of amazing Yogas.

8. Birth and Death is not in our hand. Therefore, do not get scared of Apamruthyu Yogas. One benefic planet’s aspect can save the situation mainly Jupiter, however, one should be careful when they get noticed in their birth chart and be careful. Have faith in God and chant Thrayambaka Gayathri (Om Thrayambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim Pushti Vardhanam Oorva-Ruka-Miva Bandhanaath Mruthyor Muksheeya Ma Amruthaath!)

9. Byheart some powerful Mantras, once those divine vibrations of the Mantra mixed in your blood, most of the malefic effects will disappear from your body. This is the best and easy way to shield yourselves from a bad time. The effects should reach up to your DNA level so that even in the future life this will help.

10. There are innumerable Yogas mentioned in the Jyothi Sastram, contributed by different Astro scholars. It is difficult to conclude with an exact number of Yogas. However, we will try to understand only a few Yogas based on Raasi and Bhava Chart, as we know Yogas can be narrated from all the 16 Vargas. Sometimes it will confuse us as well as contradict each other. An Astrologer mainly concentrate only on 64 Yogas (Nabaasa Yogas 32 + Aasraya Yogas 3 + Dhala Yogas 2 + Aakruthi Yogas 20 + Samkhya Yogas 7).

11. As and when I come across some interesting Yogas I will keep updating this file, hence it is an uncompleted journal. Please keep checking this chart from time to time.

12. Yoga’s effects are measured as full, half, quarter and sometime NIL, why because our day to day good and holy work will keep adjusting certain effects in our account, whereas the Yogas were based on our birth (natal) time chart.

13. Yogas nothing but the matured rewards of our Karma deed! (all for good attitude is very much needed to face hardships in life).

14. I know, for a casual person this chart may not be useful without having basic knowledge about Astrology. I have compiled this mainly for the student of astrology and myself as a handy note.

15. Exalted and Debilitated positions of Planets: Exalted = Sun in Mesha, Moon in Rishaba, Jupiter in Kataka, Mercury in Kanya, Saturn in Thula, Mars in Makara, Venus in Meena. Debilitated = Sun in Thula, Moon in Vruschika, Mars in Kataka, Venus in Kanya, Moon in Vruschika, Jupiter in Makara, Mercury in Meena.

16. English to Sanskrit names of Planets: Sun = Adithya, Moon = Chandra, Mars = Angaraka, Mercury = Buda, Jupiter = Guru, Venus = Sukra, Saturn = Sani.

17. Ojha Raasi/Signs/Male = Mesha (1), Mithuna (3), Simha (5), Thula (7), Dhanu (9), Kumba (11) and Yugma Raasi/Signs/Female = Rishaba (2), Kataka (4), Kanya (6), Vruschika (8), Makara (10), Meena (12).

18. Planets get fivefold relationships due to: Occupation, House ownership, occupied house, Occupied Star-Lord and Aspect.

19. Natural Enmity between planets: SUN = Saturn and Venus, MOON = No enemies, MARS = Mercury, MERCURY = Moon, JUPITER = Venus and Mercury, VENUS = Sun and Moon, SATURN = Sun, Moon and Mars.

20. Benefic (subha) and Malefic (asubha) Planets

Benefic by nature: MOON, MERCURY, JUPITER, VENUS

Malefic by nature: SUN, MARS, SATURN, RAAHU, KETU, GULIKAN

Malefic by occupancy: Some benefic planets become malefic due to their occupancy.

a) Moon: When conjoined with Sun or posited in 3, 6, 11^th house OR lack of support from both the sides (blank Raasis both sides of Moon).

b) Mercury: When conjoined with any natural malefic planet OR posited in 3, 6, 11^th house.

c) Jupiter & Venus: When posited in 3, 4, 6, 7, 10, 11^th house.
